Not for me, for my 2yr old. Zane got a 3wheel scooter for Christmas. We had so much snow and ice in our driveway he couldn't try it out. Finally after some warm, sunny days he was able to get out there.

I have some leftover chicken and ham to use up, so I looked up some recipes for those. The orange chicken recipe I tried last week came out so good, we'll definitely make it again. I was also pleasantly surprised by the cabbage and fennel slaw. I don't normally care for cole slaw but this was very tasty.

Monday - Baked spaghetti, salad, bread

Tuesday - Honey Curried Chicken, rice, broccoli

Wednesday - Brunch Enchiladas, hash browns, fruit smoothies

Thursday - Mushroom-Swiss burgers, oven fries, cabbage and fennel slaw

Friday - date night??

not off to a great start

I started out the new year getting organized, putting away all the Christmas decorations, buying calendars and just overall being ready for a fresh start to the year.

But as a favorite saying of mine goes: "We plan and God laughs". The first weekend of the new year, 4 of my 6 children came down with a stomach bug. The following Monday, I followed suit.

So the week I had planned to be about getting back into our busy routines, combined with decluttering projects, became about washing bedding over and over, buying lots of saltines and Pedialyte, and basically just getting through each day.

We all finally seem to be over it, at last. Several of us had recurrences but not for 2 days now.

I'm glad I had so much energy the first couple days of the new year and got several projects done.

But I'm also glad I learned to slow down a bit, let my family take care of me, and enjoy taking care of them.

And all the housework and business just waits for us anyway doesn't it?
