ski trip

We got a great skiing rate through our Options homeschool program, so Scott took the day off last Tuesday, and went with the 3 oldest to Loveland.

Conner and Chase spent the day together; Conner snowboarding and Chase skiing.

This was Brenna's first time, so she took skiing lessons. As with everything she tries, she picked it up right away.

They all had a great time and can't wait to go again.

February birthdays

We had two birthdays in February -- Chase turned 13 on the 4th and Zane turned 3 on the 16th.

Chase used his birthday money and other money he had saved up to get an Ipod Touch.

We only do parties up to age 5, then again at ages 10 and 15. The other years we just celebrate as a family. We have fun decorating before the birthday child gets up, and wrapping presents which he/she gets to open throughout the day, if we're home. Otherwise they do them all at once.

The birthday child gets to pick what breakfast I make, this year Chase chose cinnamon rolls. For lunch, they get their choice of fast food . Just the birthday child -- I'd go broke buying for the whole family on each birthday! LOL

Chase picked Wingman for the 2nd year in a row. He loves their hot wings!

We also go out for a family dinner on the closest unscheduled night. We went to Chili's this year.

Since this was Zane's 3rd birthday, he did get a party. We took family and a couple friends to Casa Bonita.

The mariachi band sang to him. He was a little shy.

He enjoyed the food and the arcade, but was really scared of the cave. I think all my kids have been at that age.

On his actual birthday, we did gifts at home. He was so excited and got the thing he wanted most: a Handy Manny workshop.

(Declan wonders where his gifts are LOL)

Happy Birthday my terrific sons!!

Marching on

Wow! March already?? Time is really marching right along! =) Almost daily I think I will fit in time to blog and then it's bedtime and I'm tired, and then it's the next day and I'm busy and so on....

But I really don't want to let go of blogging altogether. I had planned for it to be a sort of scrapbook for my family and I still want that. So I must find time to fit it in!

We had been planning to purchase a laptop for awhile, and finally did so I hope that will help. I no longer have the excuse of the kids being on the computer.

We have been busy with life. I plan to put up more specific updates tonight.
