Baby food evolved

A friend recently told me about a new kind of baby food. (At least new since my last baby). It is all organic and comes in little pouches. I bought a couple for Liam, along with the traditional jars, back when we first started him on solids. We soon noticed he loooved the pouches and loathed the jars. So that's all I buy him now. There are the basics like these:

You just rip the pouch open and feed them like you would from a jar.

And then there are these pouches with the squeeze top. These will be great to keep in the diaper bag when we're on the go. But right now Liam can't figure out the squeezing part, so we just spoon feed him.

There are some really creative combinations like banana, beet and blueberries. Liam especially likes that one. The older kids wanted to taste it last night and all said it was actually very good. (Except Brenna who doesn't like bananas).

And some really, really creative combos like spinach, apples and rutabaga. He hasn't tried that one yet.

I love that they sneak in a veggie or two with the fruit. Now the pouches ARE more expensive than the jars. Around $1.00-1.50 each, depending on which brand you buy. Target has a few different brands and lots of variety. It's worth the extra cost for me to know he will eat them and he's getting more veggies.

Just a quick note to say both me and Declan are home, safe and sound. =)

I will post more pictures soon.

Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes!

showered with love

My sweet friend Trish threw me a baby shower this past weekend. Food, games and friends -- it was a great time with some of my favorite people.

And baby got spoiled -- these are just a few of the cute outfits he received. He's going to be well-dressed. =)

This was Brenna and Anna's first time at a baby shower. They were excited.

first gift

My parents just returning from visiting family in Tennessee. My mom brought back with her a quilt my aunt made for the baby. I was so touched -- his first gift. =)

Thank you

Thank you all for the congratulations and well-wishes. This was definitely a surprise to us -- but a blessing all the same.

This will be the closest any of my kids have been -- about 20 months apart. We're wondering if Zane will be ready for a toddler bed by then?? I guess the baby will be in cradle for awhile, so that buys us more time.

We told the kids last weekend. They were almost as surprised as we were. But I think they recover faster. =) They have already talked about names and where it will sleep and its place in the Suburban. I don't think I've thought that far ahead.

I'm still in the extremely tired, nauseated, just get through the day part. Not to say I'm not excited! This is truly God's timing and His plan and I'm in awe that he is entrusting us with another little soul. I know the details will fall into place in time.
