I asked him to take a week off before he starts the new job to work on house projects. We really wanted to pull up our living room carpet and put down laminate like we have in our kitchen. He and my dad knocked that out in an afternoon.
We scoured the wonder that is Craigslist and found a great leather couch, 6 months old, for an amazing price.
Our living room is long and narrow so we measured and re-measured to determine our best configuration: couch, loveseat, chair ... couch, 2 chairs ... ? We decided 2 couches would fit best and provide (almost) enough seating for everyone.
We perused Craigslist again and found a microfiber-leather couch that matched our first one and was even cheaper. Woohoo!
We are still working on finding a desk and shelves but so far I'm happy with what we've gotten done.

Great job they did on the floor. I would LOVE to have laminate or wood rather than carpet. LOVE IT! I've never visited Craigslist but you got some great deals.
Very nice remodel! I love the new couches! We looked into wood but tile was cheaper-on paper at least.lol

YEA! Looks great. I want to pull up our flooring in the dining room and put down the same laminate we have in the library, but so far dh hasn't had time. Maybe next winter!
