Each year at AWANA, the kids aged 3rd grade through 6th grade participate in a Grand Prix. They take a block of wood and carve, paint and decorate away and then race against the other students. They can design an actual car or choose to go the "novelty" route. This Wednesday was the race.
This was Brenna's first year to be old enough to compete. She thought long and hard about her design and finally designed on Chapstick. LOL She helped Dad but he did the detail work. She took 1st place in the novelty category.
Chase decided to do a 9-volt battery. He got 3rd place in the speed category.
There are great designs every year. Note the spoon with peas (3rd from the right) and the bubblegum(far right).

Great cars, fun post, and GREAT JOB, kids! Really creative cars!
Trevor did this one year and got a trophy for first place in speed! (I'm not sure if anyone else was as meticulous about weighing their cars as Robert was, lol.)
